Welcome to Evangel Church!

Evangel Church is a contemporary evangelical church in the heart of Thunder Bay, Ontario.  We are dedicated to being a source of hope and faith for our community and a spiritual home for a growing group of people from all walks of life.


In addition to our Sunday services, we have numerous groups and weekly events designed to encourage and provide support to people in all walks of life.  In particular, our location on the doorstep of Lakehead University provides us with a unique bridge to those in post-secondary education.


We are always happy to meet new people ...everyone is welcome!

How to Find Us

We're easy to find!  Centrally located in Thunder Bay on Balmoral Street, we are adjacent to the campus of Lakehead University and just 3 blocks from Harbour Expressway.  You can walk here from the University or College.  You can drive here from anywhere in Thunder Bay within 20 minutes.  And we're only a block from three different bus routes.

Who We Are

Contrary to popular thought, we see the church not as a building nor an event held on a Sunday morning, but as a group of people who follow Jesus Christ with their whole hearts.  This is, after all, the Biblical concept of "church" and it's our desire to reflect the character of Christ to Thunder Bay and to the world.

What's Happening at Evangel

There are always lots of things happening around Evangel!  We have programs and ministries happening almost every day of the year.  We even provide facilities for Teen Challenge of Thunder Bay for a residential addiction treatment centre right in our building.  So there's truly something happeing within our walls all the time!
